Susan is the sales and service lynchpin

Customer support supervisor, Susan Juson, plays a vital role in the smooth running of the sales operation here at Contacta.

Having worked as one of our sales co-ordinators, Susan now oversees a team of four co-ordinators, providing training, running meetings and implementing new systems.

She also supports our service team, assisting with communications between them and Contacta’s engineers, as well as the heads of our sales and service departments to help ensure each team’s goals are achieved.

“My experience in the sales team means I understand what the staff need,” says Susan.  “This role is a really useful link between the sales and the service sides of the business.  I can communicate ideas, requirements and improvements to help the day-to-day tasks run a bit smoother.

“Plus, as I’m removed from the day to day of each team, I’ve got objectivity so I can see things more clearly and which areas would benefit from having something in place.”

Among the initiatives Susan has brought in is a procedure to marry up previously disparate purchase order and service numbers. “Ultimately, what we want to do is offer our customers and clients the very best service we can,” she says.

As one of four siblings, Susan is used to being part of a team, and our head office is in familiar territory, having spent much of her life in Paddock Wood.

Outside of work, walks with two year old black and tan Cocker Spaniel, Toby, take her out into the countryside, sometimes with a stop-off at Larkin’s Alehouse microbrewery.

“I’m a fair-weather walker, though,” she says.  “I love visiting Bewl Water or Bedgebury Forest in the summer but in the winter, I like to stay cosy at home with my partner and Toby, watching a good TV series.”

Susan’s sales background includes electronics, so many of the processes and terminology were familiar when she joined us two years ago.  She says dealing with assistive listening systems is a more pleasurable topic than the rubbish involved in her waste management role.

“I really enjoy coming to work every day.  Everyone is happy, it’s a great environment.  And I love knowing that what I’m doing is of benefit to people and that I’m doing some good.”
