Induction Loop Service - at a Post Office Near You |
 |
 |
 |
 |
|
|
When the Post Office
decided to provide induction loop technology in
its network of 16,000 sub-Post Office branches
across the country, it needed the most versatile
and cost-effective solution available –
as well as a supplier capable of meeting such
a large order. Contacta was appointed and rose
to the challenge delivering one unit to each sub-Post
Office branch across the country in just over
3 months. |
 |
|
| |
Post Office counter staff
can now communicate effectively with customers who
wear a hearing-aid. In addition, the company is
now in compliance with the relevant requirements
of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (DDA)
- well ahead of the October 1st deadline. |
 |
|
| |
A fair hearing
for all |
| |
Importantly, the Contacta
systems will assist both customers and staff –
as required by the DDA and established in the recent
landmark ruling in the Court of Appeal regarding
teacher Gaynor Meikle. Employers refusing to make
reasonable adjustments for disabled employees –
such as fitting an induction loop - are risking
thousands of claims for constructive dismissal. |

The Flexible Solution |
| |
Contacta’s Portable
InfoLoop offers the latest induction loop technology
in a single, handy desktop unit. Powered by re-chargeable
battery, it can be used for one-to-one conversations
– across a Post Office counter, for example
- as well as for discussions between small groups
anywhere. |
| |
|
| |
Once switched on, it can
be left on standby all day and re-charged at night,
or plugged in to the mains. |
| |
|
| |
This simple, neat solution
means no installation works are required; little
or no staff training is needed – full instructions
are supplied with each unit; and there are no trailing
wires or parts to lose. |
