Architects, Designers and Specifiers need to act now to ensure buildings for which they are responsible meet the requirements of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (DDA) and Approved Document M: 2004. The DDA comes fully into force on 1st October 2004 and applies to nearly all buildings in which goods or services are offered to the public. It requires provision be made for all types of disability – including hearing impairment.
