For patients and their friends and relatives, visiting a hospital, clinic or medical centre can be a very stressful experience in itself. However, the situation can be aggravated even further if the individual involved is hard of hearing. This can lead to feelings of frustration and isolation and can be equally difficult for the visitor and healthcare worker alike.

Our long experience of working with clients in this sector has made us fully aware of the problems to be faced and how we can assist in overcoming them. Our job is to improve face to face communication by advising on the effective utilisation of systems that can improve the experience of people with hearing loss.

For example, we can provide induction loop or infra red listening systems for reception and waiting areas, triage desks and consultation rooms, and, in those areas where security is a concern, we can fit speech transfer systems so that staff can be protected by glazed screens whilst still having the ability to communicate clearly with members of the public.
